This groundbreaking album by Ice Cold Sophist proves that originality in hip-hop ain't dead!! Here, iC$ is born as he gives us more narrative into the character mold of who he is as an artist and ultimately what his music is all about. More expansive than his initial 2013 offering, 'BD1013', CRD is packaged with 17 original songs, including three bonus tracks. iC$ delivers with dynamic rhyme schemes over his usual preference for aesthetically astute soundscapes, ranging from the dark and gritty feel of his Midwest upbringing, to the eclectic southern bounce vibes reminiscent of legendary rap phenom, Outkast. The production tends to strike a unique balance of old-fashion sampling infused with jazzy synths, as well as a touch of the modern dub-influence, all complimented by picture perfect story-telling.

Sophist is challenging the listener to find freedom in chasing their dreams, but, he is also acknowledging the very real sacrifices that come with the pursuit. In the end we're left to answer this question for ourselves. Fortunately, for us, 'The Great Cubicle Rap Dream' is the perfect muse to ponder such an ancient inquiry, "to be or not to be"... Ice Cold Sophist just may have the answer.
